Men at Lakeview

Our men's group seeks to encourage and strengthen one another in reflecting on the teaching and wisdom of Scripture, and to motivate one another to godly living across the various roles of our lives, whether as men in general, husbands, fathers, employees, etc.  Our meeting together regularly helps to foster healthy relationships within the larger church body.

The men have a Bible Study that typically meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at 7am.  We are currently studying the book Unchristian  by David Kinnaman and The Faith by Charles Colson and Harold Fickett.

"In his Epistle, the Apostle Peter instructed us to give others good reason for the hope we have in Christ, but to do so with 'gentleness  and respect.' Unfortunately, in the eyes of many non-Christians today, the church as done just the opposite. In Unchristian, David Kinnaman, president of the Barna Group, has compiled startling research among the unchurched and learned that Christians are too often known for the issues they stand against, rather than the hope which they stand for. According to the research, believers are seen as too judgmental, too political, and often hypocritical."

"...a winning combination of Christian apologetics and Christian doctrine -- a manifesto for looking at the world in a distinctly Christian way..'The Faith' is moved along by stories more than by systematic theology (though there's plenty of the latter in the book as well).[T]he book indeed works as both catechesis and as apologetic, a strong defense for traditional faith without sounding overly defensive. 'The Faith' is more a celebration of orthodoxy than a circling of the theological wagons. Its primary message is that Christianity is true, Christianity is good, and Christianity is beneficial for the world."  - Christianity Today
